Germany: Tropical Islands Sings Serving Contract with Coca-Cola
The Brandenburg-based Tropical Islands leisure and waterpark facility, which is operated by Parques Reunidos, recently announced that it will use the time until its reopening to overhaul its softdrink serving counters throughout the destination. Renowned softdrink supplier Coca-Cola will serve Tropical Islands in the future as new beverage partner.
The current serving counters will be changed and equipped with the latest technology. In addition, five new “Coca-Cola Freestyle“ serving stations will be installed, which will enable visitors to mix up to100 different flavours of softdrink tastes by themselves. “We are delighted to continue our work with Parques Reunidos in Germany for the next four years and are proud to be the future softdrink partner of Tropical Islands as well. With the introduction of Coca-Cola Freestyle we will offer guests an innovative softdrink experience,“ says Tim Amelunxen, Managing Key Account Coca-Cola European Partners Deutschland GmbH.
With “ValidFill“ (photo), Tropical Islands developed a refill cup with an integrated RFID chip, which provides guests with the opportunity of specifying how often they wish to refill it already in advance of their visit. Wouter Dekkers, General Manager of Tropical Islands, explains: “Due to safety reasons we are not able to ban plastic cups completely. But with the self service counters the acceptance and serving of cups with every single order will be avoided. This will reduce the total amount of cups and preserve resources.“ (eap)
