Germany: Welcome to Candyland – Oskarshausen Opens New “Naschfabrik“ Theme Area

Since January 2019, Oskarshausen, an indoor family park located in Freital near Dresden, has been offering visitors lots of fun and playful experiences. With its new “Naschfabrik“ (Eng.: “Nibble Fabric“) theme area the park wants to light up the eyes of kids. Right in time for Saxony’s summer vacation time, the 600 square metre-large candy-themed area, which offers a lolly meadow with growing lollipops, has opened to guests last Friday. Two new rides from SBF-Visa, the “Cookie-Karussell“ teacup carousel and the “Lollyschleuder“ Mini-Top-Spin, provide kids with an extra portion of fun. Furthermore, the area features the “Nasch-Café“ which offers a variety of sweet treats such as waffles, ice cream and milk shakes. Theming and design specialist Sven Riegel was in charge of the concept design for the new area.

“Whether designer, figure builders, carpenters or tilers – I am very proud of our team and all craftman companies and suppliers involved, who mastered this project in a great team effort,“ says Christian Wehlan, founder of Oskarshausen. “At Oskarshausen’s unique Naschfabrik, everyday lives are supposed to be forgotten for one moment. There are impressive elements for the eye and both children and adults can await an experience factor that has not yet been offered in this special form in Oskarshausen,“ adds Theresa Tamme, head of marketing.

“Especially challenging for us were the extreme large lollies and candy canes, for which we had to test and try a lot, also with locksmiths, model makers and other craftsmen from the region,“ comments Bianka Lohse, decoration specialist. Josefina Rühle, responsible for design and visual marketing at Oskarshausen, adds: “In the near future, there will be a lot of movement here and the children will be thrilled by gear wheels, aeroplanes, balloons and a large rainbow machine […].“ (eap)
