Germany: Work on New Big Dipper Coaster in Europa-Park’s Coming "Croatia"-Themed Area in Full Swing

At Europa-Park in Rust, preparations are not only underway for the upcoming Halloween season, but work is also progressing on the new roller coaster that will be anchored in the park’s future “Croatia” themed area. The coaster, which will be an upgraded model of the “Big Dipper” type by Mack Rides, will have over 1,380 meters of track and a total of seven trains, each sitting 16 passengers, allowing for a high throughput. The highest point of the track will be at 32 meters.

A total of 21 curves and other elements are to provide varied riding fun in “Croatia” from the 2023 season. This Big Dipper installation will be the third attraction of this type in Europe, alongside “Lost Gravity” at Walibi Holland (read also our cover story in EAP 3/16) and “Dynamite” at Freizeitpark Plohn (c.f. EAP 3/19).

By the way, “Eatrenalin” is the next novelty on the grounds of the Europa-Park Resort that will celebrate its opening soon – the multi-sensory experience restaurant is located between Yullbe and Krønasår hotel and aims to completely reinterpret fine dining. Read all about Eatrenalin in our next EAP magazine issue. (eap)
