Germany’s Theme Parks Full Steam Ahead to First Full Season in Two Years!
For two years, Germany’s amusement parks had to put up with only being able to open their gates to visitors halfway through the year and under strict conditions. This year, the motto is “full steam ahead” and so several parks across Germany start into the season 2022, which will hold numerous novelties for guests – as you could already read in the last weeks in our webnews and our Park Report – on this last March weekend. This is also the case at Movie Park Germany, which opened its doors to visitors again at 10 o’clock this morning. In the “Santa Monica Pier” themed area, a large new play area is to be opened this summer, which will be implemented in cooperation with eibe. Here, not only a “Baywatch Tower” with a slide will be built, but also a large climbing fish and several trampolines, all of course thematically fitting with a “touch” of California. Also new will be digital waiting time displays at the attractions and twelve new e-charging stations in front of the main entrance.
The Freizeitzentrum Schloß Dankern is also already entering its summer season today and is coming up with two new experiences for visitors at once with the “Wasserwerk” water experience area and the “Hühnerstall”, an indoor experience area full of marble runs. “Now we are thrilled that the park is finally filling up with life again,” says Managing Director Christian Freiherr von Landsberg-Velen. And the first streams of visitors will also cause hustle and bustle at Europa-Park and Jaderpark starting this Saturday.
Many other leisure destinations will then follow on the first two weekends in April. “We are really looking forward to the punctual start of the 2022 season! [...]” said Sabrina de Carvalho, managing director of Heide Park Resort, which will welcome visitors again from April 2. The park has new event weeks on the schedule this year with the “Heide Park Carnival” (May 14-29, 2022). At Ravensburger Spieleland, families can explore the new “Beweg dich schlau!” (Eng.: Move smart!) experience room starting April 9, which will offer a variety of interactive learning and agility games in cooperation with the Felix Neureuther Foundation.
