Germany/Finland: KUKA Acquires Visual Components
Augsburg/Germany-based Kuka company, manufacturer of robotics and part of Chinese Midea group (cf. EAP news from October 10th, 2016), has recently acquired Finland’s Visual Components, provider of 3D simulation software for planning and decision-making processes. “3D simulation is an important element in the design of the factory of the future [cf. EAP news from September 7th, 2017]. Visual Components offers innovative solutions in this field,” said Dr. Till Reuter, CEO of Kuka AG.
After all, simulation is one of the key elements for technological innovations such as artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, cloud technology and the Internet of Things. “Visual Components and Kuka have been working together successfully for many years.
