Global Village Kicks Off 29th Season with Novelties

(eap) Dubai’s Global Village entertainment, dining and shopping destination, operated by Dubai Holding Entertainment, started into its 29th season yesterday. The re-opening was celebrated with a parade, cultural performances and a new laser and fire show. Novelties this season include three additional pavilions showcasing the Asian countries of Iraq, Jordan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, bringing the total number of cultural pavilions to 30.
Furthermore, the “Railway Market”, “Floating Market” and “Fiesta Street” have been transformed. The latter has been extended with double-storey street kiosks to increase capacity. There are also new green promenades running through the destination and the all-new “Restaurant Plaza” with a total of eleven two-storey restaurants, each supposed to offer spectacular views of the destination. The centre of the Restaurant Plaza will host shows and performances as well as a variety of dining options. ■
