Gondorf/Germany: Reopening of Eifelpark a Great Success
Thanks to the good weather in late March/early April, some amusement parks in Germany decided to bring forward their season opening spontaneously and receive their guests earlier than planned. For instance, Allgäu Skyline Park (Bad Wörishofen) opened its doors within the scope of a pre-opening on March 29 and 30, 2014. The Erlebniswelt SteinReich (Hohenstein) spontaneously opened to visitors on the first weekend of April. And the operator family Löwenthal/Goetzke that had invited visitors for the reopening and an open day (with free admission) at Eifelpark was also delighted about stable weather conditions at the beginning of April. And the response exceeded all expectations of the park’s new owners, who had taken over Eifelpark located near Bitburg in the autumn of 2013 (cp. EAP news from 7 Nov. 2013 or EAP issue 2/2014). Over 10,000 visitors came to Gondorf on April 5 to discover the new attractions and changes at Eifelpark. The new “Eifel-Blitz” family roller coaster, bumper cars and four new adventure playgrounds were particularly in demand among visitors. A new bungee trampoline and animals such as macaws, cockatoos and meerkats in the new animal enclosure delighted the guests. (eap)
