Grimm Statue Recognizes Efteling’s Fairy Tale Forest

A statue of the brothers Grimm was unveiled at Efteling, Europe’s third largest amusement park, last Thursday on the occasion of the celebrations of the 200th anniversary of Grimm fairy tales. The statue, a donation of the deutsche Brüder Grimm-Gesellschaft e.V. and the GrimmHeimat NordHessen recognizes the park’s commitment to preserve fairy tales as cultural assets for more than 60 years. Efteling’s fairy tale forest features a total of 28 fairy tales, 15 of which are Grimm stories. Michael Meyer, cultural attaché of the Federal Republic of Germany, Bart de Boer, Chairman of Efteling, Michaela Klare of the Deutsche Zentrale für Tourismus as well as Ute Schulte of GrimmHeitmat NordHessen (pictured from left to right) gathered on the occasion of the handover by the well-known fairy tale character of Little Red Riding Hood.
