Heide-Park, Soltau: Dive Coaster Gets a Name
„Krake“ (octopus) is the name of Germany’s first Dive Coaster which is currently being built by the Swiss company Bolliger & Mabillard (cf. our current EAP issue, Page 10ff) for the Heide-Park. The theme park in Northern Germany, which is part of Merlin Entertainments, invests a total sum of 12 million Euros in their new action-packed project. As the park management promised, the new attraction will get a complex theming. The attraction will be built in the Pirate Bay theme area opened in 2010 and will primarily have teenagers and high thrill fans as target group. The coaster is planned to be 41 meters high and have a track length of 476 meters. Krake is scheduled to open for the season’s beginning in April 2011. (eap)
