(eap) The Heroes Paradise Outdoor Activity Center in Brandon, Florida (USA) is adding a stationary surf wave to its offering this year. Opened in June 2020 by Julie and Tim Pennenga, Heroes Paradise spans over eight acres (three hectares) and currently offers a laser tag course, archery, an interactive climbing wall, a simulator and two courses for remote-controlled cars, among others. With the surf wave, the leisure facility now wants to add a water attraction for surfing enthusiasts – whether beginner or professional, the attraction is supposed to offer fun for everyone. The stationary surf wave is going to be the EpicSurf® model “ES46” from the Aquatic Development Group (ADG), which has a surfable wave width of 46 feet (around 14 meters) and spans a total area of 66 feet (20 meters) wide by 90 feet (27 meters).

“We’re thrilled to deliver our deep-water stationary wave to Heroes Paradise, bringing surfing to Brandon, FL, and giving so many people the chance to catch a wave. We believe this attraction will complement the venue’s other offerings and provide a fresh, new experience that will thrill visitors of all ages,” says Bruce Quay, COO of EpicSurf. And Julie Pennenga emphasizes that the collaboration with the EpicSurf team was a true partnership and their commitment to bringing their vision to life was great.

The opening of the wave is planned for the end of 2025. ■
