IAAPA Board Meeting Held at Europa-Park / Germany
Last week, the worldwide members of the IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) Board of Directors came together at Europa-Park, Germany. Roland Mack, CEO of Europa-Park and 2012 Chairman of the IAAPA Board, took the chance to invite the board members to his theme park for this 3-days event. The IAAPA board members had the opportunity to discuss important topics of the industry, e.g. safety, sustainability, copyrights and the Euro Attractions Show 2012 taking place in Berlin. “Safety is of first priority for us and it’s important to standardize the international safety norms. When families visit a theme park, they want to spend an eventful and safe day, no matter if they come from Europe, Asia, the USA or South America. An incident does always affect the whole leisure industry, regardless of where it happens,” explained Roland Mack. Among the highlights of the board meeting was a visit of Europa-Park’s new themed hotel, “Bell Rock”, which will be open to the public soon. (eap)
