IAAPA Brass Ring Awards 2015

Die Preisträger freuten sich über ihre Auszeichnungen.

The “IAAPA Brass Ring Awards” were held last November in Orlando. These prizes are the means by which the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) honors outstanding achievements and innovations in our industry in several categories each year. And as if the flood of awards out there wasn’t big enough already, two additional prize categories were added this time. Ocean Park Hong Kong and Hurricane Alley were both awarded the “Best Employee Engagement” award for the first time. The IAAPA also granted the “New Concept” award for the first time to a product innovation that hadn’t even been installed anywhere up to that time: Mack Rides took the top prize in this category for the water attraction “Power Splash”, which will debut in the upcoming year at the Belgian amusement park Walibi.

Of the innumerable prizes awarded last autumn, a good few also went to Europe. European prize winners included Sweden’s Gröna Lund amusement park, which was honored for its marketing campaign and PR program. Sweden took home another coveted prize for live entertainment in the category “Best Overall Production” with Kolmården Wildlife Park’s dolphin show “Life”. And Europa-Park also won over the jury with not one, but two of its live productions: “Spook Me! The Europa-Park Musical” and the “Surpr’Ice with the Gods of Greece” ice show. The IAAPA also awarded Europa-Park its “Digital Video Commercial” award. Britain’s West Midland Safari Park was equally awarded a prize in the same category. (eap)
