Immersive Gamebox at Sea Life Oberhausen Now Open

(eap) Last fall, the British leisure attractions operator group Merlin Entertainments and the company of Immersive Gamebox announced their partnership with the goal of bringing so-called “Gamebox” play cabins to further locations worldwide. After the first installation of this cooperation opened at Sea Life Sidney in December 2023, the second followed last week at Sea Life Oberhausen. “We can’t wait for Oberhausen families to immerse themselves in a world where imagination knows no bounds and adventure awaits at every digital corner. Immersive Gamebox offers exciting games and interactive experiences that will bring families closer together and create unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime […],” says Martin Lind, General Manager of the Merlin attractions in Oberhausen.
At Immersive Gamebox, two to six players can experience different games in one of eight free-standing Gamebox units. There are 13 games to choose from, including “Squid Game”, which is based on the successful Netflix series of the same name, “Angry Birds”, “PAW Patrol”, “Shaun the Sheep” and “Ghostbusters”. The games range from a play time of 30 minutes to 120 minutes. Picture motion tracking, projection mapping, touchscreens and surround sound are used to transport visitors into the respective game’s world. ■
