Indonesia/USA: Kios Group’s Integrated Tourism Destination on Bali to Include International Theme Park with Paramount License
With “KBS Park”, a new, approximately 600-hectare large integrated tourism destination developed by the Indonesian Kios Group is to be completed on Bali in the course of 2025. Strategically located between Gilimanuk and Denpasar and connected to the airport of Ngurah Rai and the planned North Bali Airport in Sumber Klampok, the coming new destination is aimed at drawing an even higher influx of guests from the Asian region and the whole world to the island. In addition to hotels, living, sports and leisure facilities, KBS Park is also to include one of Southeast Asia’s largest international-standard theme parks. Kios has now signed an agreement with Paramount Pictures Themed Entertainment Group to have well-known IPs and characters from the US film production company move into the different experience areas of the future park, which is to occupy an area of 57 hectares.
“Paramount is a global brand that captures the imagination of everyone, from children to adults. We all have exciting memories of Paramount films, with a legacy of excellence that has lasted 110 years. We will tap into Paramount Picture’s library of over 1,000 films and use brands and characters that will appeal to people of all ages, while other attractions may draw on Nickelodeon’s characters such as ‘SpongeBob Square Pants’, ‘Dora the Explorer’, and ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’,” commented Ade Sulistioputra, Managing Director of Kios. The rich Indonesian culture will also be reflected in the future theme park, especially in an area to be called “Land of Legends”, which will be based on myths and legends of the Asian country. (eap)
