Istanbul/Turkey: Vialand Celebrates Soft-Opening

While the unrests between the Turkish government and protesters in Istanbul still continue, the first theme park of Turkey has been opened by Prime Minister Erdogan in Eyüp by the end of May. The new, highly anticipated theme park is a joint venture of Gürsoy Group and Via Properties. According to the media the construction of the 60 hectare large park cost TL 1.15 billion (about 460 million EUR). When the soft-opening phase is over, the park will offer more than 50 attractions, a shopping center, and a show and event center. (eap)
