Italy: Remake of Gardaland’s “I Corsari“ Boat Theme Ride Attraction
Gardaland’s “I Corsari” boat theme ride attraction, which was opened in 1992 after an installation period of three years with 30 Italian and American companies involved, will surprise visitors with a new storyline this season. Under the new name of “I Corsari: La Vendetta del Fantasma” (Eng.: “The Corsairs: The Revenge of the Ghost”) the attraction will immerse riders into a chase on stormy seas, pursued by a creepy ghost …
While the existing ride system of “I Corsari“ remains unchanged, novelties include modern technologies such as 3D video mapping and digital projection technologies. Also, the attraction’s sound effects have been adapted to the new storyline. LED light installations will create scenic effects and animations in sharp detail; thanks to 3D video mapping (installed by Image Tools) riders will enjoy a panoramic view of 360 degrees. For the sound effects, more than a hundred new loudspeakers have been installed along the track. The orchestration and production of the new tracks was carried out by SAMPLE; the Italian dubbing actor Pietro Ubaldi gave his voice to the ghost.
