Japan: Harry Potter to Enchant Tokyo in the Future
As of the first quarter of 2023, “Harry Potter“ fans in Tokyo will be able to enjoy the “Wizarding World“ in a new visitor attraction. Warner Bros. Studio Tours announced the development of Warner Bros. Studio Tours Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter in cooperation with Warner Bros. Japan, Seibu Railway Co., Ltd., ITOCHU Corporation and Fuyo General Lease Co., Ltd. The concept oft he planned Harry Potter-dedicated attraction will be based on the same experience that opened in London in 2012 (cf. EAP 5/2012).
Besides original film sets, costumes and props of the beloved movies about the young wizard with the scar on his forehead, the new entertainment facility will also feature the “Fantastic Beasts“ movies. The Studio Tour will be developed on a groundspace of 30,000 square metres, partly on the grounds of Toshimaen Amusement Park, which will be closed down at the end of August this year. Additionally, the space will offer a landscaped area with sculptures of mystical characters from the movies, which will be accessible to visitors of the Studio Tour and the public.
