Kaprun: Tauern Spa World for Around 90 Million Euros

Contracts for the most expensive tourism investment in Pinzgau were signed in February. The facility consisting of a spa and hotel will cost a good 90 million euros and, according to ORF Salzburg, is to open in December 2010. Construction is set to begin on the five-hectare large premises this August and the medical company VAMED will be operating the facility. The investment sum is being primarily supplied by a consortium of banks. According to reports, the state and the federal government are funding the project with six million euros apiece. An annual 320,000 visitors are anticipated. VAMED already runs the much-vaunted Aqua Dome Längenfeld in Austria, as well as the Thermal Baths’ at Geinberg and Laa. (eap)
