Karl's Erlebnis-Dörfer shine with a record 7.5 million visitors

(eap) Karl's Erlebnis-Dörfer (Adventure Villages) welcomed more than 7.5 million guests in 2024: The Karls Group's popular adventure and leisure parks are thus continuing their success story, making them one of the leading leisure destinations in Germany.

“This figure is not only a record, but also a clear sign that our concept – experiences for the whole family, regional products and attention to detail – is inspiring people,” explains Robert Dahl, founder and Managing Director of Karls Erlebnis-Dörfer. “It makes us a little proud that we are able to get more people excited about Karls every year.”

However, the company also had to painfully learn four days ago in Rövershagen Adventure Village how closely joy and sorrow sometimes can be linked when the popular barn of the tractor railway was destroyed in a fire – fortunately, neither people nor animals were injured.

Karls CEO Robert Dahl knows very well that success can never rest on record visitor numbers, but above all requires long-term visions. This is why he and his six adventure villages in Germany are focusing on sustainable concepts, regional value creation and innovative leisure activities. “Our goal is that by 2035, nobody in Germany will have to travel more than 60 minutes to a Karls Adventure Village - each of them unique, but always with the signature Karls charm,” is how Dahl formulates his own vision.

And the next major project, which is already filled with concrete plans and attractions – including a family launch duelling coaster (see EAP News 6 Nov 2024) – finally received its definitive go-ahead a few days ago: "On 17.12.24, we succeeded in getting a project close to our hearts approved. In Elstal, near Berlin in the municipality of Wustermark, Germany's first Bibi & Tina Theme Park, Karls PlanschTheater – a completely new water park – and the large 1000-star Resort with fantastic themed hotels and holiday homes can now be built on 790,000 square metres alongside the popular Karls Erlebnis-Dorf,” explains Dahl. ■
