KidZania Set to Open in Singapore

As announced by the end of last week, KidZania is set to open in Sentosa Island, Singapore in early 2015. The indoor park will be the centerpiece of a new multi-million dollar redevelopment at Palawan Beach where it will join the existing water playground “Port of Lost Wonder”. The children’s edutainment center will cover an area of 7,600 square meters and enable four to 14 year old kids to role play and make real-life experiences in a kid-sized city. The new KidZania will be developed by Themed Attractions and Resorts which have already opened KidZania Kuala Lumpur as well as Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park in Malaysia in 2012. The KidZania concept was initiated in Mexico in 1999 (cp. EAP 1/2008) and now has 11 locations across four continents in eight countries. Besides Singapore, a total of 13 locations are under development including Bangkok, Kuwait, Jeddah, Moscow, Istanbul and London. (eap)
