Lake Neusiedl/Austria: 83 Million Euros for St. Martin’s Baths
Right in time for St. Martin’s day in 2009, the St. Martins spa currently under construction (previously referred to as the “Seewinkeltherme” thermal spa) is to open in Frauenkirchen at Lake Neusiedl—including an adjacent lodge with 150 rooms and 300 beds. According to information from the investors, this is a “highly emotional” wellness offer for nature lovers. Based on the latest planning situation, guests will be able to watch and enjoy the sundown over Lake Neusiedl from a sunset terrace. A 110-metre long tube slide will also supplement the range of offers here. Total investments in the facility run at a whopping 83 million euros. Athena Fonds is the main investor with a 49-percent share in the company. Vamed GM Wastler is expecting 450,000 visitors per annum by the fifth year of operation. Vienna and the bordering countries Slovakia and Hungary will be targeted as the main catchment area. (eap)
