Liseberg Announces Break Dance 5 for Coming Season
(eap) The Swedish amusement park Liseberg recently announced plans to open a Break Dance 5 at the start of the 2025 summer season, which will receive the name of “Kraftverket” (English: Power House). The prototype of the ride model by Huss Park Attractions celebrated its premiere just a few months ago in Vienna’s Prater (see EAP 6/2024) – the second installation is now underway at Liseberg.
The new ride is being built in the southern part of the park, directly below Liseberg’s biggest attraction “Valkyria”, in order to make optimum use of the limited space in the park. “Kraftverket may seem unassuming based on its size, but don’t let that fool you. This will be a true family thrill ride. We are very proud to bring back this classic to Liseberg,” says Andreas Andersen, CEO of Liseberg. The ride may even bring back nostalgic memories for some guests – a Breakdance ride was already in operation in the park from 1987 to 1993.
“There are long-term development plans for Liseberg, specifically for the southern part of the park. The plan for Kraftverket has been in place since the construction of Valkyria in 2016, and now the time has finally come to unleash the power. Kraftverket will be a perfect complement to the park’s other attractions,” Andersen adds.
With a diameter of 16.5 meters and 20 gondolas for two people each, Kraftverket is set to give guests over 140 centimeters tall (120 centimeters if accompanied) an adrenaline rush as of next season. ■
