Longest Zip Line of Europe to Open in Wales
According to the media, the longest zip line of Europe will be opened on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park in north Wales in March. “The Big Zipper”, a 1,600 meter long zip line, will transport brave visitors around 153 meters above the ground at speeds of up to 130 km/h over a lake located in the decommissioned Penrhyn Quarry. But the two to three hours lasting guided adventure experience of the “Zip World Snowdonia” will start with a ride on the 500 meter long “Small Zipper”, around 22 meters above the ground. The journey continues with a drive in a specially adapted off road vehicle through the quarry up to the starting point of “The Big Zipper”. It follows the drive down the nearly one mile long track as mentioned above. Visitors have to be aged seven years at least, while the maximum permitted user height is two meters and the maximum permitted user weight is 120 kg. The capacity of both zip lines is 40 pph each.
