Louisville Slugger Museum Modernization

The Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory operated by Hillerich & Bradsby Co. (H&B) has undergone extensive renovations. The gallery “Bat Vault”, which features more than 3,000 original bat models, has doubled in size and is now included in the regular admission price, rather than just the VIP pass as before.

In addition, guests can hold a piece of history in their hands in the permanent exhibition. They can pose with game-used bats, and with newly installed cameras, there are now even more opportunities to capture this moment. Further photo opportunities are offered by the fact that player statues have been positioned in front of photo walls, allowing guests to be photographed alongside baseball legends such as Henry Aaron, Babe Ruth and Roberto Clemente.

Another highlight is a nearly 19-square-meter new space for temporary exhibitions. Currently on display here is “West Main’s Marvel: The Big Bat”, an exhibit where guests can dive into the history of H&B’s move to West Main in 1995, the installation of the iconic Big Bat and the impact the museum has had on the development of Louisville Downtowns. The renovation work was done by JRA, part of RWS Entertainment Group, along with Schaefer Construction, which was responsible for the build-out. The exhibits were fabricated by 1220 Exhibits. (eap)
