Mark G. Parker Elected to Walt Disney Board of Directors
As The World Disney Company recently announced, Mark G. Parker has been elected to the company’s Board of Directors with immediate effect. In total, the Disney Board now includes 12 members. Since 1979, Parker has worked for Nike and since 2006 he has served as the US-American sports equipment provider’s CEO and President. During his 37-year tenure at Nike, Parker has held several further positions, including Vice President of Consumer Product Marketing, Vice President of Global Footwear and Co-President of the Nike Brand. In addition to helping lead the continued growth of the Nike brand, Parker in his current position is responsible for the growth of the company’s global business portfolio, which includes Converse and Hurley International.
