Netherlands: Coen Bertens Leaves Efteling After 23 Years

As Efteling just announced, Coen Bertens (photo), Director of the Park business unit, will  leave the Dutch fairytale theme park after 23 years. “Efteling is a dynamic organisation that moves with the times. This also applies to me, it is time for a next step in my career. I look forward to inspiring others with everything I have been able to learn here in the recent years,“ comments Bertens.

Until February, Bertens will continue serving in his current position and as a member of Efteling’s board of directors. Nicole Schefferns will succeed Bertens and will also take over his board position. With this changes on management level, Efteling’s board of directors will consist of Fons Jurgens (Chief Executive Officer), Daan van Baarsen (Chief Financial Officer), Nicole Schefferns (Theme Park Director) and Koen Sanders (Commerce, Creation & Development Director and Hotels & Resorts Director).
