Netherlands: ETF and Jora Vision Created New Mini Dark Ride System
The two Netherland-based companies ETF Ride Systems (ETF) and Jora Vision just presented the concept of new “Pirate Mania“ mini dark ride system, which is especially made for Family Entertainment Centers. Both providers created a pirate-themed ride, which uses a ground space of 250 square metres. Visitors board the pirate ship-shaped vehicles and try to shoot on small screens on the “pirate training course“. The second area of the ride is an inside scene which takes place in a blacklight lighted room. The trackless ride system (Mystic Mover) and interactive system was installed by ETF, but the theming and design was provided by Jora Vision.
Ruud Koppens, CEO of ETF points out: “[…]The vehicle has a double bench and a capacity of 4 guests. The track path is also extraordinary: we added fancy movements such as 90° turns and a 360° on-the-spot rotation, in the middle of a sunken pirate ship. An on-board sound system will be integrated. We are proud to work with Jora Vision to launch this new product into the market.” Jan Maarten de Raad, CEO of Jora Vision adds: “[…] we strongly believe there is another market for dark ride experiences: the smaller FEC’s usually placed in shopping malls or commercial areas. Because of the small footprint and budget friendly concept, we hope to convince FEC’s that such dark rides are a great investment to diversify the entertainment offer.“ (eap)
