Netherlands: Happy Birthday! 70 Years of ETF
Based in the Dutch municipality of Nederweert (province of Limburg) and well-known in the leisure industry, ETF Ride Systems is part of the ETF Group, whose origins lie in the ETF Machinefabriek, founded in 1951 to produce machinery for the textile industry. In the late 90s, the subsidiary ETF Ride Systems, which specializes in the development and construction of modern ride systems for attractions on a global scale, was created first as a joint venture and finally as an independent ride supplier. ETF’s trackless ride systems for dark rides, in particular, enjoy great popularity and can be found in small and large theme and amusement parks around the world (e.g. Efteling, Dubai Parks & Resorts, Legendia, Walibi Belgium, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi etc.). The Spanish theme park Terra Mitica was among the first parks to install a trackless ride system from ETF.
The latest projects the supplier is involved in include the brand-new LEGOLAND New York Resort, the opening of which is expected for this spring. Learn more about this new Lego park in one of our upcoming magazine issues. ETF was able to expand their product portfolio by the recent takeover of road train supplier SOIOS B.V., as can be read in our EAP news of 3 July 2020. (eap)
