Netherlands: Into the Rabbit Hole – Efteling Announces Temporary Fairytale “Efteling Wonderland“ for this Season

This year, Efteling is celebrating its 70th anniversary and is taking this milestone birthday as an occasion to create a new, temporary fairytale area called “Efteling Wonderland“ for its visitors. From 28 March to 3 October 2022, guests will be able to take a seat at a colourful and fantastical tea table in the “Speelweide“ area and become part of a birthday tea party hosted by the “March Hare“ and the “Mad Hatter“, known from “Alice in Wonderland“ by Lewis Carroll. Visitors will be invited to take photos and selfies around the table and at other locations in the March Hare‘s “vegetable garden“. This fairytale zone also includes a souvenir shop and a small F&B area.

“Efteling is celebrating its 70th anniversary in troubled times. The need to be together and escape reality now and then is greater than ever. We have deliberately chosen a fairy tale with a joyful celebration at its heart. The fairy tale will only stay in the park for a few months, making the anniversary year extra special,“ says Efteling CEO Fons Jurgens. “It‘s also a premiere that our visitors will be actively involved in a fairytale scene as guests of honour. Together with the Mad Hatter and the March Hare, they are part of the experience. Efteling will continue to stay true to the fairytale theme, but will also keep reinventing itself.
