Netherlands: New “Legendary Trunks“ Touring Exhibition Stages Suitcases
Amsterdam’s historic building of Beurs van Berlage has recently premiered the new “Legendary Trunks” touring exhibition, which takes visitors on an exciting journey into the world of historical and iconic Louis Vuitton trunks (c.f. EAP, 6/17). Visitors become witnesses of adventurous stories taking place on luxurious ocean liners, steam trains and jet planes: they get an insight into writers’, actors’, opera singers’ and world leaders’ glamorous lives. More than 200 authentic Vuitton items, dating as far back as 1850, are on display.
Dutch Jora Vision company was involved in the project from the initial design development through production and installation, with a constant art direction role throughout the whole process. The result of their work is a non-classic museum tour, reminiscent of a walk-through experience with visuals, light and audio effects as well as loads of decoration items. An audio guide tour and digital applications unlock stories and secrets for a more intimate and tailored experience. After its first stop in Amsterdam, the exhibition will be traveling across Europe first and then move on to the United States and Asia in the coming years. In Amsterdam, the exhibition will be on display until February 18th, 2018. (eap)
