New Gastronomy at Efteling’s Danse Macabre Themed Area
(eap) While the themed area “Huyverwouds” around the new “Danse Macabre” attraction, which is to make guests shiver in the Dutch Efteling theme park from 2024, is still under construction, a new gastronomy facility will already open on July 1 here.
The story behind the catering point “In den Swarte Kat” is that the “Charlatan” family has taken over this former tavern as a grocery store and now offers refreshments for passing travelers. The offer includes products such as kettle cakes, abbey bread and “blood juice”, which can be taken away as well as eaten on the terrace. In keeping with the theme of the area, the former tavern looks burned down and partially collapsed, and holds some spooky elements. This facility marks the first time Efteling has offered a food and beverage concept with self-service checkouts.
Also opening are the sanitary facilities “De Laetse Hoop”, which are said to be haunted from time to time – just like In den Swarte Kat... ■
