New Immersive Weather Experience Coming to Klimahaus Bremerhaven
(eap) The Klimahaus adventure museum in Bremerhaven, Germany, is planning to open a new attraction in the middle of this year that will immerse visitors in extreme weather phenomena (“Wetterextreme” in German) and their effects. Specifically, the new experience is a three-storey installation with a dynamic ride platform as its centrepiece, which moves in various stagings consisting of different sets, film content, sound and special effects such as wind, rain and fog. The journey on the lift platform takes guests through floods, droughts and storms as well as high above the clouds. The British companies Sarner International and Moonraker VFX were commissioned to realise the attraction.
“The unique technical challenge of the Wetterextreme project lies in its demand for a high level of synchronicity between the immersive media and the physical experience of the attraction. This meant that we had to ensure that the special effects, lighting, and mechanical effects all worked in tandem. Our collaboration with Moonraker VFX is central in this regard, combining our expertise to engineer a seamless and captivating experience that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in immersive storytelling,” described Ross Magri, Managing Director at Sarner International.
Jon Grafton, Managing Director at Moonraker, added, “We are thrilled to be working once again with Sarner International to create the Wetterextreme experience. The project further enhances our companies’ reputation as industry trailblazers and experts in crafting innovative immersive edutainment experiences.”
The opening of the Wetterextreme experience is scheduled for Q3 2024. ■
