Germany: Klimahaus Bremerhaven Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Ten years ago, Bremerhaven/Germany's Klimahaus Bremerhaven 8° Ost science and experience center opened its doors for the first time (cf. EAP 6/09 & EAP 2/19). Since then the visitor attraction, which is dedicated to the knowledge transfer on climate-related topics, has welcomed a total of over five million guests. The 11,500-square meter exhibition area, which is divided into several sections, features a versatile offer for guests of all ages, including interactive hands-on stations and high-tech installations. The Klimahaus is recognized by the UNESCO as an extracurricular place of learning of the highest category.

"Our aim to turn the Klimahaus into an international science centre for climate-related topics has been accomplished. This is our driving force to further engage with climate protection, sensitizing our visitors' awareness for phenomena such as extreme weather conditions," explains Arne Dunker, co-founder and CEO of Klimahaus Bremerhaven 8° Ost.
