New Observation Wheel to Open in Kansas City

(eap) At Pennway Point in Kansas City, Missouri, a new 45-meter-high observation wheel is currently under construction and is scheduled to open this fall. The wheel, named “KC Wheel”, will be operated by ICON Experiences and is supplied by Dutch Wheels. Construction is being managed by Missouri-based PARIC company. Once construction work is completed, guests will be able to enjoy views of the Kansas City skyline year-round in one of 36 enclosed and climate-controlled gondolas or a VIP gondola. At ground level, visitors will also find “Pennway Putt”, a minigolf course, and the “Wheel House”, where a variety of snacks and beverages can be purchased and taken on the Ferris wheel ride. Overall, the area around the new observation wheel will be redesigned and offer various gastronomic and entertainment facilities. The redevelopment is led by Vince Bryant of 3D Development.

“What we love most about the site for the KC Wheel is guests will get to experience amazing views of the downtown skyline and surrounding area. Whether with friends or family, young or old, the KC Wheel is an experience that all can enjoy and celebrate together,” said Curtis Parks, COO and Managing Partner at ICON Experiences. “The views will be stunning for those walking around the Crossroads District, driving down I-35 or from one of the many commercial or residential buildings in the area. We’ve discovered diverse neighbourhoods and a thriving community that we’re eager to join. The KC Wheel will give the city one more icon, one more reason to love KC and one more reason to visit.” ■
