New Water Playground Under Construction at Ketteler Hof
(eap) The Ketteler Hof play and leisure park in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany) is currently building a new water playground for the 2025 summer season. This will be named “Summer, Sun, Beach & Sea” and will comprise three parts, each with an area of around 400 square meters. Various water attractions such as fountains, slides, water jets and spray cannons will offer young visitors a pleasant way to cool off on hot days. Changing rooms, loungers and seating will also be provided.
Planning work for the project, which is being implemented in-house, began in summer 2023. The ground-breaking ceremony took place on January 8, 2024 and the construction project was planned and designed by Ketteler Hof itself in collaboration with UnS Kunst. Most of the construction work is also being carried out by the park itself. Some of the water attractions come from Roigk – some are also being developed by the park itself. In addition, a large concrete whale and dolphin figure is to be sculpted by Betondesign Kollock. The water will be treated using a hydro-ozone system from Hydro-Elektrik.
The water playground will be opened in three stages. The first area is scheduled to open at the start of the summer season on March 29. Section two is planned for April and the last section is due to open in time for the North Rhine-Westphalian summer vacations, starting in mid-July. ■
