Now Open: New Ecolodgee Hotel at Futuroscope
(eap) After a year and a half of construction, the first overnight guests were welcomed last weekend at Futuroscope’s newly opened “Ecolodgee” hotel (see EAP 3/2023). Ecolodgee is the park’s second themed hotel after the four-star “Station Cosmos” hotel, which opened in 2022. Implemented with an investment budget of 18.5 million euros, the accommodation offer was realized on a 3.8-hectare green area not far from the park entrance, where guests can stay in 120 wooden lodges. A total of one hectare of water was created in the center of the site.
Each of the lodges is built on stilts and has a bedroom, a children’s area, a living room corner, a bathroom with toilet and a private wooden terrace. Up to five people can be accommodated here on 27 square meters of space. With “Initial” and “Signature” there are two different house categories, in the latter guests benefit from more space, a ceiling fan, an espresso machine and a kettle for tea. So that families with children can focus on themselves and the retreat of nature during their stay, the houses were deliberately not equipped with TV sets. Instead, hotel guests can borrow board games from the reception desk. All houses are heated with 100 percent green electricity. For environmental reasons, the houses also do not have air conditioning. The French NGE Group is responsible for the construction of the lodges.
The indoor water park currently under construction at the French theme park is scheduled to open in July 2024. The company Polin Waterparks from Turkey (water slides and attractions) and the Canadian company Moment Factory, which is known for its spectacular multimedia installations, are playing a key role in equipping this new water world. ■
