OWA Parks & Resorts Opens Tropical Falls Water Park Outdoor Area

The entertainment destination OWA Parks & Resorts in Coastal Alabama, operated by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians tribe, is opening an outdoor water area. The expansion is part of the park’s approximately EUR 65 million (USD 70 million) investment into several novelties and expansion measures (we reported). Already last year, the theme park was renamed from “The Park at OWA” to “Tropical Falls at OWA”. In addition to a redesign of the existing theme park, an indoor water park with eleven water slides was opened in 2022. Last weekend, the new outdoor area of the water park was also taken into operation. Here, guests can expect a nearly 3,000-square-metre wave pool called “Big Water Bay”, a surf simulator christened “Coastal Curl” and a stage area with a 14.6-metre-wide LED screen. There is also the tropical-inspired “Breakers Bar & Grill” open-air restaurant as well as a landscaped beach with ample seating and private cabana rentals.

“The Tropic Falls expansion has been more than three years in the making and is evidence of our continued commitment to seeing our vision through at OWA,” said Cody Williamson, President/CEO of Creek Indian Enterprises Development Authority (CIEDA). “Leading the development arm of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, we focus on continually investing in projects, like OWA, which allow us to remain a strong economic partner for the State of Alabama.” (eap)
