Ohio / USA: Cedar Point Sandusky Plans New Major Attraction
At the beginning of August, the listed Cedar Fair Entertainment Company had reported record results for its second quarter already – the net revenues for the fiscal second quarter increased to 357.6 million US Dollars (about 280.5 million Euros) from 284.5 million US Dollars (about 223 million Euros) in the second quarter of last year, an increase of more than 25 percent. Now first announcements have been made for investment plans: Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, announced the construction of a new record-breaking mega rollercoaster. “Gate Keeper” is the name of the new wing coaster which will be supplied by Bolliger & Mabillard. With a height of 52 meters the new major attraction will again change the park’s skyline. It will be built on a 1.4 hectare large area near the entrance area and cost a total sum of approximately 30 million US Dollars (about 24 million Euros). The rollercoaster’s track will have a length of about 1.3 kilometers on which riders reach a maximum speed of 108 km/h.
