Parques Reunidos Announces „Steelers“-Themed Area with New Coaster for Kennywood
Located in Pittsburgh/Pennsylvania, the Kennywood amusement park is set to launch a new theme area dedicated to the Pittsburgh Steelers football club in 2019. According to its operator Parques Reunidos, “Steelers Country” will immerse visitors into a football stadium and feature a number of merchandise shops, food locations and – as highlight – a 67 meter-high steel rollercoaster from American manufacturer S&S, dubbed “Steel Curtain”.
“We are very excited about the partnership with Kennywood. Being able to connect the Pittsburgh Steelers with a family attraction like Kennywood is a natural fit for both organizations, and we are thrilled about the tradition and longstanding history the Steelers and Kennywood provide to families in and around the city of Pittsburgh,” said Ryan Huzjak, Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Steelers.
Fernando Eiroa, CEO of Parques Reunidos, added: “We are excited to be hosting the Steelers family through this partnership. This new themed area is a milestone in our strategy to integrate sports in our entertainment offer and we are certain that many fans will enjoy the Steelers immersive experience at our most visited park in the US, Kennywood.” (eap)
