Phantasialand Unveils New “Avoras” Family Attraction
(eap) This year’s season, Germany’s Phantasialand is not primarily drawing visitors with the next new spectacular roller coaster addition, but with active and exciting climbing adventures. The family-run theme park is thus building on the success of its “Deep in Africa” adventure trail, which opened two years ago in the Africa-themed area (read our article in EAP 6/22).
In the fantasy world “Wuze Town”, families can now discover the new large adventure play structure “Avoras”, which – designed as a majestic bird – rises above the area with its wide-spread wings. The giant bird can be explored from feet to beak via swaying climbing nets, fast tube slides, steep ladders and hidden steps. Climbers are constantly presented with new routes of varying difficulty, making this new attraction suitable for a wide age group. As with the Adventure Trail, Phantasialand worked together with the German playground design company Kinderland Parks on the Avoras project.
The Africa theme world has also been expanded to include a new climbing playground (also by KinderlandParks) that complements the large adventure trail as an offer tailored to the youngest visitors: “Mopti’s Monkey Depot” is aimed at small children curious to go on an excursion between crates and ropes, while adults can enjoy the cheerful African atmosphere around. ■
