(eap) Tomorrow sees the start of the Karl May plays in Pullman City in Bavaria again. Despite the fire in January of this year, the western town has been able to continue with rehearsals and renovations on its large open-air stage alongside reconstruction and regular operations. On Saturday at 8 pm, the new Karl May spectacle “Der Ölprinz” (The Oil Prince) celebrates its premiere. The 90-minute play is all about power, intrigue, enmity and a settler who gets caught between the fronts through no fault of his own. The play will be performed 49 times until September 8. As in previous years, the director and author of the play is Mike Dietrich. At his side, also from the beginning, is stunt coordinator and “Winnetou” actor Ivica Zdravkovic.

In addition to the premiere, there will be various activities for the whole family in the Western town as part of the “Karl May Weekend”, all about “Winnetou” and “Old Shatterhand”. On Fridays, the duo Jill & Joe will play country sounds in the “Western Alehouse”. On Saturday evenings, the band Two Faces will create a Western atmosphere in the new “Pullman Barn”. In addition to bands, the adventure playgrounds, gold panning, horse and carriage rides and the special Karl May program, the cowboys and cowgirls will once again be performing the popular Wild West and magic shows. ■
