Record Number of Visitors at the German Spy Museum Berlin

Record Number of Visitors at the German Spy Museum Berlin

(eap) The German Spy Museum in Berlin set a new visitor record in 2023. After three years of declining visitor numbers due to the pandemic, the museum near Potsdamer Platz welcomed more than 441,000 visitors last year, some 25,000 more than in the previous record year of 2019. The permanent exhibition with exciting espionage gadgets, themed exhibits and interactive activities attracts lots of visitors, in particular families with children. For kids and teens, there are features such as a laser course, a lie detector and a bug search as playful elements. The attraction also sees high attendance from international visitors. Robert Rückel, who took over the managemet of the Spy Museum in 2016, and his team are delighted with the success of the interactive concept. Rückel also presented a completely new exhibition experience last summer in the form of the new Deutschlandmuseum (“Museum of Germany”), which brings 2,000 years of German history to life in an immersive way – it is located in the immediate vicinity of the Spy Museum (read our story about the Deutschlandmuseum in EAP 6/2023). ■
