SEA LIFE Berlin Reopens after AquaDom Bursts

(eap) Early on Friday morning, September 16, 2022, the 16-meter high AquaDom belonging to SEA LIFE Berlin burst. The free-standing cylinder aquarium was located in the courtyard area of the Radisson Collection Hotel, which is part of the DomAquarée hotel and business complex, which is also home to SEA LIFE Berlin. The leaking water damaged the hotel lobby and the first floor of the Radisson as well as a total of six stores and the DDR Museum. SEA LIFE Berlin remained closed from that day on. As the underwater world belonging to Merlin Entertainments now announced, it reopens its doors again next Monday, May 15, 2023. However, without AquaDom – the construction of a new giant aquarium is not planned here. ■
