SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment Announces Further Park Novelties for 2019
Following an outlook on the novelties at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, SeaWorld Orlando, SeaWorld San Diego, Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA in 2019, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment has recently also revealed new attractions and rides for its Texan parks SeaWorld San Antonio and Aquatica San Antonio.
“Turtle ReefTM” will be a new interactive theme attraction around turtles – visitors will be able to get an up-close look at the endangered species and to experience personal animal encounters. In addition, two new rides will debut in the park: “Riptide RescueTM”, an Airboat model from German supplier Huss, will take visitors on a spinning ride through the air, thematically based on a turtle rescue mission – the gondolas will be designed as boats. Adrenaline seekers can look forward to “Sea Swinger”, a pendulum ride from Zamperla (type: Midi Discovery), which will swing riders back and forth up to 180 degrees.
Adjacent Aquatica San Antonio water park will open a new multi-drop slide tower from Canadian waterslide manufacturer ProSlide, featuring three TurboTWISTER slides (two of which will be equipped with a SkyBOX). The attraction’s name will be “Ihu’s Breakaway Falls®” – a similar slide tower from the same supplier has been enthusing bathing guests to Aquatica Orlando since 2014 (cf. EAP, 4/14). Its theming will feature gecko “Ihu”, who is always looking for the biggest thrills …
In addition to new attractions, the SeaWorld group will offer new annual pass packages for 2019, including a number of new benefits such as animal encounters, photo keys and expanded culinary options. (eap)
