Seattle/WA: “Space Needle“ Observation Tower Features New VR Attraction
Opened in 1962 in due time for the World Exhibition, the 184 meter high Space Needle observation and restaurant tower in Seattle/WA is one of the most iconic buildings in the city’s skyline. Recently, the tower’s observation platform was expanded with “The VR Bar” – a new virtual reality attraction, developed in cooperation with Panogs (provider of foto and video technology with a focus on VR) and Graffix (specialist for brand design). Visitors to the observation deck can try out four different VR experiences, which are all included in the price of admission. Adventurers can virtually walk around Space Needle’s outer Halo, fly a seaplane above Union Lake, soar over the city of Seattle or – a special offer for brave visitors – experience a virtual bungee jump starting in a height of 520 feet (approx. 158 meters).
“Since the Space Needle opened for the 1962 World’s Fair, the tower has symbolized innovation and endless possibilities. Today, we’re taking that pioneering spirit above and beyond with digital experiences designed to give guests new and exciting ways to interact with Seattle’s most iconic landmark”, said Karen Olson, Space Needle Chief Marketing Officer.
