Singapore: ArtScience Museum Offers New VR Art Experience
For a few days now, visitors to the ArtScience Museum, which is part of the Marina Bay Sands leisure and entertainment destination and dedicated to the interplay between art and science, have been able to enjoy a new gallery, which is dedicated to the curiosity, innovation and experimentation of virtual reality artworks. Wearing a VR headset and using controllers, visitors can experience the first VR exhibition “Hyperrealities“, which presents artworks of the three contemporary artists Olafur Eliasson, Marina Abramović and Anish Kapoor.
“At ArtScience Museum we believe that new technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality enable museums to create pioneering new experiences for audiences. Our new VR Gallery at Level 4 is one of the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, and will present a rolling programme of cutting-edge virtual reality works by artists, filmmakers and scientists. […] The new VR Gallery underscores ArtScience Museum as a destination for ground breaking immersive experiences,“ said Honor Harger, Executive Director of ArtScience Museum. (eap)
