Six Flags and Riverside Investment Group Partner with Turner Asia Pacific to Develop New Attractions
Six Flags Entertainment and its Chinese development partner, Riverside Investment Group, have recently agreed on a strategic partnership with media conglomerate Turner Asia Pacific (Turner) to bring new branded experiences to Six Flags parks currently under construction throughout China (cf. EAP news from February 24th, 2017 & November 16th, 2017). The first IP brand to be featured at Six Flags Zhejiang (scheduled to open in 2019) and Six Flags Chongqing (2020) will be the emoticon bunny “Tuzki”, created by artist Momo Wang. Both parks will receive a Tuzki-themed dark ride attraction, decoration elements and retail locations offering branded merchandise.
Ricky Ow, President of Turner Asia Pacific, said, “We are honored to join forces with these two best-in-class companies to bring memorable, one-of-a-kind entertainment offerings to China. This is the first time that Tuzki’s loyal fans will be able to really experience their favorite emoticon in such a tangible and authentic way. Together with our partners, Six Flags and Riverside Investment Group, we are excited to offer this immersive, new attraction to park guests.” Zhe Li, Riverside Investment Group Chairman, added, “This partnership brings together two powerhouse entertainment brands with a long tradition of making people happy. Tuzki is a beloved icon for China’s younger generation and is the perfect addition to the Six Flags family of parks.”
The agreement also allows for other Turner-owned IPs from Cartoon Network’s portfolio of characters and shows to be featured inside Six Flags parks. (eap)
