South Korea: Increase in Attendance Figures at Lotte World
According to an annual report tracking the attendance of theme parks released by Themed Entertainment Asscociation and AECOM, Lotte World has recorded an increase in attendance figures of 2.8 per cent from June last year to June this year. In total, over 7.6 million people visited the South Korean amusement park during this period. For Lotte World, it is the second year in a row to enjoy healthy attendance gains. As main reason for the positive development the park officials name the introduction of the new “Let’s Dream!” nighttime spectacular which debuted one year ago. Produced by California-based Goddard Group, an independent entertainment design firm, “Let’s Dream!” replaced ECA2’s “Galactic Odyssey” show. “Both from a creative and business standpoint, we have been extremely happy with the results achieved by ‘Let’s Dream!’. As soon as the show debuted last summer, the park saw massive increases in their ‘Voice of Guest’ satisfaction surveys,” Gary Goddard, Founder and Chairman of the Goddard Group, comments. Lotte World features a total of eight Goddard attractions, including the themed area “Underland” as well as the interactive attraction “Do You Speak Beluga?” (cf. EAP News from January 25, 2013) (eap)
