Spain: Ferrari Land Gets Green Light for Opening
Now the opening date is official: Ferrari Land, the third theme park of PortAventura World Parks & Resorts, will open its doors for visitors on April 7th, 2017, to immerse them into the world of the iconic “Cavallino Rampante” full of adrenaline and thrills (c.f. EAP news from April 12th, 2016 & May 11th, 2015).
Its main attraction, the “Acelerador Vertical”, is a record-breaking Intamin acceleration coaster, which will be Europe’s highest (112 meters) and fastest (0-180 km/h in five seconds) rollercoaster of its kind. “The arrival of Ferrari Land next April will highlight PortAventura World’s position as a worldwide leading holiday destination, offering three theme parks in one resort. PortAventura World Parks & Resort will be a wholly unique destination on an international scale, combining the true essence of PortAventura with the distinctive traits of Ferrari Land,” said Giovanni Cavalli, General Manager Commercial, PortAventura World.
Besides the new Ferrari Land, the resort comprises PortAventuraPark and Caribe Aquatic Park. Five themed hotels, four 4-star and one 5-star hotel, complete the offer for visitors. Furthermore, a convention center offers a capacity for 3,000 people with access to three golf courses and a beach club.
During this year’s Euro Attractions Show, which is held from September 20th to 22nd in Barcelona, the IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) offers an educational tour at Ferrari Land for its members during the conference programm. (eap)
