Spain: New “Nickelodeon Adventure“ FEC in Madrid Now Open
The second location of a Nickelodeon Adventure indoor FEC from Spain’s Parques Reunidos group was opened this past December at the intu Xanadú shopping and entertainment complex in Arroyomolinos (Madrid). The new leisure offer around the Nickelodeon universe is a result of Parques Reunidos’ cooperation with the American Viacom media corporation to open a number of Nickelodeon FECs at different locations in Europe (cf. EAP News from March 10th, 2016). Another center is already in operation in Murcia (Spain).
The new indoor leisure offer comprises an area of some 6,000 square meters and features different play areas themed around characters such as “SpongeBob SquarePants”, “Dora the Explorer” and “PAW Patrol”. Visitors awaits a versatile entertainment landscape with interactive games, a “Ninja Turtle” adventure course and a toddlers’ area. In addition, the center also includes a 4D cinema, educational areas for school groups, a café and a shop. Among the companies involved in the implementation of the new FEC were P&P Projects (design and theming), the animatronics specialists from Germany’s Heimotion company as well as Spain's Artefacto Escenografía, which had been commissioned with the production of some of the decorative sculptures, lighting elements and the café's furnishings.
“After the success at Parque de Atracciones de Madrid’s ‘Nickelodeon Land’ and Movie Park Germany’s ‘Nickland’, facilities like the ones at Xanadú allow us to offer families an opportunity to experience Nickelodeon in a different and innovative way through the activities and technology they will find at centers like the one opening now in Madrid,” explained Jesús Fernández, Chief Operating Officer Europe at Parques Reunidos.
Besides Nickelodeon Adventure, intu Xanadú Madrid is also home to Atlantis Aquarium, which was opened in late 2018 and forms also part of the Parques Reunidos‘ portfolio (cf. EAP News from Dec 5th, 2018). (eap)
